Shweta is our host for the Saturday Six Word Challenge – #117.
This week’s prompt word is “gift”. Here is my 6 word story.

After winter, the gift of spring.

Today and for the next three, we are having spring here in SW Texas. The bird feeder by our den window is over-active this morning, as if it were May.

That must be a glorious sight! I’m not a winter girl; spring can’t come too soon for me.

Oh, I love this, Nancy. I loved the image too. Thanks for joining in.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind? – this line from Shelley’s Ode to the West Wind has got me through some tough times.

Six words that bring so many thoughts and memories. I immediately thought of Rustle of Spring by Christian Sinding. I had forgotten about it until now. Believe me or not …. I once practiced and played it in high school. OH NO.. not like it should sound and I can’t even play chopsticks today. Just another one of those things I did and never was any good at. lol

I love that piece by Sinding, Sighs …. one of the most difficult pieces I have ever played. It’s not easy playing two entirely different “melodies” with each hand! I love how the main theme alternates between hands. You need agile fingers for sure to get the rustling just right! Thanks for reminding me of that gorgeous piece.

One of the most difficult pieces “I have ever TRIED to play.” lol Maybe I just dreamed it. I can’t remember what I did yesterday.

Nice line, and one of my favourite composers and pieces of music. That first violinist is rather nice, isn’t she 😉

Thank you, Clive; one of my favorites from the classical world. How can you not imagine birds and butterflies flitting around a sunny garden when this piece is playing?
Yes, she’s stunning. Beautiful playing, elegant posture and lovely neck. 😊

I’m doing my best but it is so misty here that I can hardly see the garden! It’s a very uplifting piece of music, though – it ranks for me with the opening movement of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony.
Yes, a lovely looking woman and very talented player.

They are both gorgeous pieces, so soothing.
No mist here but freezing temps! 🥶

Hope it isn’t too cold for you!
