Written for Kymber Hawke’s Get To Know You #46
Here are her three question and my three answers.

- Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
Extrovert. I’m not a shy person and I enjoy meeting and talking to people. If I’m stuck in line somewhere or sitting in the waiting room at the doctor’s office, I’ll strike up a conversation with the person next to me or respond to their attempts at conversation. I’ve done a lot of singing so I’m used to being in front of people; I’m in my element. Performing and entertaining are great fun; hand me a mic and I’ll sing you a song. 🎤
- How old were you when you had your first celebrity crush and who was it?
As far as I can remember, I was 10 years old and the object of my affection was Richard Chamberlain in the TV role of Dr. Kildare. Richard Chamberlain was so handsome as the young Dr. Kildare and all my little girlfriends were infatuated with him. He also released an album of standards which my mother bought for me and I played repeatedly. Before Drs. McDreamy, McSteamy and McHottie there was Dr. Kildare. 😍

- What was your favorite board/dice/card game?
As a child we would play BINGO fairly often. My father liked to play cards and he taught me how to play poker and gin at an early age. As a kid I played Candyland and checkers but I don’t remember too many other board games until I got older. I liked the card game Uno and board games Clue, Scrabble, Facts In Five, and Monopoly but my all-time favorite is Trivial Pursuit. I love trivia games and I’m good at them. We play a board game after every holiday dinner …. especially on New Year’s Eve waiting for the ball to drop. 🎲🎲
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a little better. Thanks to Kymber for a fun prompt. See you soon! 😊

I remember Dr Kildare, and also him as Prince Charming in Cinderella. He played the money/safety pinching idiot in Towering Inferno too, and met a very sticky end from a zip line. Didn’t know he could sing though!

Yes, he had a nice voice and played the role of Captain von Trapp in a Broadway revival of The Sound of Music.
Disaster movies are always fun and I remember Towering Inferno.

Dr. Kildare was indeed quite handsome. I liked the cowboys. My first celebrity crush was James Garner as Maverick. I can still recite the entire riverboat theme song, but the biggest crush was on Pernell Roberts, Adam of Bonanza. He had dreamy eyes.

Adam was my favorite Cartwright boy, too …. dark, brooding, introspective and sexy. Even as a young girl I wasn’t interested in the “cute ones”!

Can you believe he’s still alive at 90-something!? My dad preferred Ben Casey but it was 3 against 1 in our house so Dr Kildare ruled!

Wonderful he’s still around. I remember Ben Casey, too. Wasn’t there some trend going for awhile that had all us wearing what we called Dr. shirts? They were white with a high collar and buttoned on the side like the TV doctors wore. 🙂

Wow, Barbara! You’ve got a good memory if you remember that. I don’t but I do remember when Nehru jackets were all the rage!

It looked like a Ben Casey shirt. I had one, and I had a Nehru jacket too. I liked those a lot. 🙂
