Ovi Poem

Christmas Memories: An Ovi

Written for Ovi Poetry Challenge #79.
This week’s inspiration word is
“remember”. This is my Ovi.

When I was just a little girl
My hair a mass of golden curls
I’d ride my sled, take a whirl
Life was full of joy

Christmas was a special time
Mom would dress me up so fine
Into Dad’s car we’d climb
Off to church we’d go

We’d hurry home, dress for bed
Thoughts of Santa in my head
His beard of white and suite of red
Just like in storybooks

Remember to leave a treat
Milk for Santa, cookies sweet
Lots of reindeer snacks to eat
Bringing gifts is lots of work

Christmas comes, another year
Make a wish and spread good cheer
Recall childhood times so dear
Merry Christmas to all!
