What? Me Paranoid?

This morning when I booted up my laptop, I got a message saying I was offline … something that happens from time to time. You learn to live with these glitches; I’m usually back online in a few seconds.

It was taking a little longer today so I checked out ‘settings‘ just to see what was going on. Under the section with the heading ‘other networks’, there was a new name that caught my eye. It was one of those things that makes you go ‘hmmmm’.

Now, no one has ever accused me of being paranoid, I don’t buy into conspiracy theories (except my lightbulbs and batteries are dying a lot faster than they used to) and I’m not overly suspicious of people or things in general, but this sorta rubbed me the wrong way.

Immediately after taking the screenshot, the network name in question vanished. Of course, I realize it’s a new neighbor who thinks he’s a real comedian with a clever wifi handle but I gotta give him his props; he had me going for a minute.

So, friends …. tell me. Do you think it’s at all disconcerting to see “FBI Surveillance Van” on your list of neighbor’s wifi networks or is it a pretty cool idea you wish you thought of? Would you or have you done it? You’re answers are safe with me.

  3. Ok…I will try this again…last week a subscribe box popped up on your site and I put my email address in…I thought it was good. I then saw your comment this morning and thought…hmmm I didn’t see her all this week. This time I clicked subsribed…so hopefull we are good now.

    Anyway…yea that is fun…I’ve seen FBI and all sort of things I can’t repeat on here. I named mine usually after Beatle albums…right now I have Revolver and Abbeyroad in my house.

    1. Watch out for that Revolver wifi name, with the FBI lurking around. They might get the wrong idea. 😂

  10. I just checked my wifi network list – I found: HideYoKidsHideYoWifi, UglyJoe and Underpants. There used to be one with a profane reference to Verizon…Given where I live FBI Surveillance Van wouldn’t make anyone blink…just business as usual.

  11. If I were to see ‘FBI Surveillance Van’ here, Nancy, I would think they’d have probably taken a wrong turn somewhere. It was good of them to give you time to take your screenshot, though… now, how did they know? 🤔

  15. Haha. I’m pretty sure no FBI surveillance van in the history of well, surveillance vans would have a hotspot named FBI surveillance van 😅😂🤣
    But that IS a great idea to freak out unsuspecting neighbours. I rarely pay attention to the list of available networks though. 🙊
