Welcome to Birthday Thursdays! Each week I will feature someone from the world of music whose birthday falls on this day. There wonât be any chit chat from me, no facts and figures â just some great tunes (and an occasional surprise). Check it out right here every Thursday and enjoy the music.

Probably so. Liberace and Lawrence Welk, my grandmother’s favorites. đ

His speaking voice is really over the top; I concentrate on his musicality

This can’t be the first time you’re seeing Liberace, is it?

Nope. He was on tv quite a lot here in the 60s, back in the days when we only had three channels and he was much harder to avoid! Changing channels meant having to walk over to the tv and it was easier just to read a book or a magazine!
