Written for Story Starter – Saturday Mix and
Weekend Writing Prompt #356

prompt word ‘froward’ – 46 words exactly

In a fit of rage, she smashed her champagne glass on the marble floor and stared defiantly at him.

“I dare you!” she challenged, her breasts heaving.

How he adored this obstinate, froward redhead he’d married. He pulled her to him, hungrily kissing her swollen lips.

    1. She leans into him, her fingers tracing the rippling muscles of his back. In one swift motion he lifts her off her feet and carries her to their still unmade bed. She throws back her head and laughs seductively as he runs his hands through her crimson tresses. They fall to the bed, feverish in passion’s hot embrace, their pounding hearts the only sound in the stillness of the night.

  1. This story wakes you up! I honestly had never encountered the word “froward” before. Nor the song either. Don’t think I’ll be singing along with it. Or dancing along with it. 😉

    1. This is from my Danielle Steel Compilation.😂 Not my usual style of writing but I see why this genre sells!

Froward was unfamiliar to me as well; thank goodness for my Mac’s built-in dictionary. I can add that to my TTotT List next week. 😊

The song is one of Rainbow’s lesser known, with Joe Lynn Turner on lead vocals; I have neither sung nor danced to this song. 😂 It’s a good album, though.

      Happy Sunday, Sighs! ☀️
