  8. Years and years ago, when I was a teenager, I was tasked with babysitting a niece, well before I had any children of my own. She had trouble going to sleep so I told her a few stories and then said she should close her eyes so the sandman would come and sprinkle his magic on her eyes, or something like that. She started screaming bloody murder, “I don’t want a big mean man to throw sand in my eyes” and she was nearly hysterical.
    She got a lot more stories that night, but I was very careful which ones.

      This song used to scare the crap out of me. Whatever that thumping sound is in the beginning, I swore it was the sound of footsteps chasing me. And later when the guy comes in with that creepy “YESSSS”, that’s when I started to cry! If the vid doesn’t open, it’s “Mr. Sandman” by the Chordettes.
