“This can’t be the right place, Alex.”
“Well, it’s the address the hotel clerk gave me and our GPS brought us right here.”
Alex and Gwen sat in their car wondering how the little yellow shack by the water could possibly be “the best fish and chips place in all of Liverpool”.
Exiting the car, they were struck by the tantalizing aroma of frying food. Grabbing each other’s hands, they ran to the front of the shack. The smell of fish and chips was mouthwatering and there were at least fifty people in line.
Damn if that clerk wasn’t right!

We have a local place here just like in the photo. I never thought to go that way. Clever!!! I could taste that yummy fish and chips, a fav, despite the grease. LOL Now, Ill have to go and have some.

The photo made me think of places I’ve seen on the way out to our vacation spot on the shore. There are some great little places the tourists don’t know about and the food is always fantastic.
I think I made everyone’s mouth water for fish and chips! LOL!!
Thanks for your comments, Isadora.

There’s a place down at Three Bridges station called Snoopy’s that has the best burgers this side of the equator. It’s a little pop-up trailer that sits amongst the taxi stand. There’s nothing like the smell of grease in the morning. Happily there’s no “Ride of the Valkyries“ playing in the background.

Dear Nancy,
Some of the best food comes from those little “hole in the wall” places. Nicely done. Pass the vinegar. 😉

Mmmm. I think I got a lot of mouths watering with this one, Tom!
I need to find a good fish and chips joint where I live in NY;
what do you think the odds are of that happening? LOL!! 😂
Thanks, Tom!

The odds seem quite good… I’ve just done a quick internet search, and there are a few in NYC. If they’re close to you, however, that’s another thing entirely. Seek, however, and ye shall find! 🤣

I’m about 30 min north of Manhattan,
doable but I bet there’s a place closer than that.
I drove by a restaurant called The Irish Bank,
about 15 minutes from my home; I have to try that!

It’s so often the best fish and chips, or fried clams, etc., at a spot that one might be tempted to drive right by.
